Mr. C.
Design + Creative Direction
Technically, it’s Mr. Chiemmongkoltip, but usually it’s just Paul.
I’m a creative collaborator with over 20 years of experience in the design and ad world. I’m well-versed in Conceptual Thinking, Visual Communication, Branding + Identity, and Integrated Marketing. I don’t know it all and don’t pretend to, so it’s a good thing I love to keep learning and strive to always be improving.
I’m a relationship maker and a people-lover and I’m not one to turn down good conversation over some nice, neat straight bourbon. And … I’m a sucker for a good story.
How about you?

Some Nice Words From Nice People
“Talented. Hard working. Selfless. Kind. Compassionate. Fun. Insightful…these aren’t just words you’d find in the description of an ideal Creative Director candidate, they’re also the adjectives I’d use to describe Paul Chiemmongkoltip. I worked as an ACD of copy for Paul for a little under two years on the Natural American Spirit account. He brought levity, calm, organization, and a keen design eye to our team at a time when we desperately needed it. He led us through some tough times, elevating our work and bringing us closer together as teammates and friends. He was always willing to do whatever it took to get the job done right, whether he was mentoring juniors, providing direction, or jumping into the trenches to push work the extra mile. It was an absolute pleasure working with Paul. Any team would be lucky to have him.”
— Rick Hickey, ACD, Copy
“During the time we worked together at Havas, Paul was an amazing Creative partner to have for the Account team. He had a true sense of teamwork and his ability to keep a sense of calm during the most hectic times allowed him and his team to focus on the task at hand. While this shouldn't have to be the case, Paul was not only the Creative Director but stepped in to fill the gaps of many missing roles on the team by leveraging his years of experience in the industry, eye for design, passion for getting to great work and commitment to the agency and client. He did so all while leading a creative team and freelancers to develop beautiful work that pushed the boundaries for the client at that time. Paul is a blast to work with and will never let you down. It was a true pleasure to work together.”
— Rachel James, Account Supervisor
Paul is a consummate creative professional. I have had the pleasure of partnering with Paul on a number of businesses and projects over the years and I cannot recommend him highly enough. Paul is an incredibly strategic thinker but, more importantly, is able to connect that thinking to highly thoughtful and creative output. He consistently pushed my team's thinking, forcing us to highly effective creative territories that we would not have gotten to without his persistence.
— Dan Waters, CEO at Enjoy Life Foods
“Paul and I worked on the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store business for several years. Collaborating on fully integrated campaigns including in-store collateral, OOH, television, digital, and social media executions. He is a strategic thinking, conceptual, authentic, and hard-working creative. He's always striving to better the brand he's focusing on. He develops thoughtful and relevant campaigns to push a brand forward. Clients look to Paul for his point of view as ideas are presented, and value his insights. Not only is Paul a fantastic creative partner, but he also takes the time to mentor his team to grow in their careers. Paul is an honest and wonderful person both professionally and personally. I would love to work and collaborate with him again in the future, he's a great resource to any team that is seeking an experienced creative partner.”
— Ashley Reeder, Account Director
“Paul isn’t just a world-class professional, he’s a world-class human being. He’s the kind of guy you’re just glad to spend every day with. I should know, I did exactly that for about 7 years. He’s a kind and patient person who takes a genuine interest in those around him. These qualities are also what make him an excellent creative director and designer. He nurtures talent and teaches. He takes a genuine interest in projects and brands. He makes a real effort to get to know them, and it shows in his work. He gets in so deep, Paul tends to know more about his clients’ business than they do. And Paul plays as well as he coaches. He leads and generates amazing big ideas. His design and art direction is always stunning. He crafts stories that sell. Have I made it obvious enough why everyone loves him? Because they do. Especially clients.”
— Matthew Barber, Creative Director, Copy
“Having worked with many creatives throughout my career, Paul is definitely one of my favorites. I've been extremely fortunate to work closely with Paul. Witnessing first hand his ability to lead a creative idea/concept, consistently raising the bar when it came to strategizing, developing and creating successful campaigns... ALWAYS bringing his "A" game. You can always count on Paul to be there, working next to you. Helping, mentoring and keeping you on track. Always grounded, NEVER frustrated... Paul is the purest example of professionalism and leadership. He inspires and elevates the people around him to do their best work.
I can't wait for the opportunity to work with him again!”
— Doug Stanley, Production/Studio Manager
“Working with Paul as Creative Director on our account at Cracker Barrel was a wonderful experience for me! Paul collaborated closely with our marketing team to develop strategies and produce innovative creative content for our brand resulting in profitable campaigns. Paul and I often worked together on many food and retail photoshoots. He enjoyed the challenges and worked closely with production teams to bring visualized ideas to life. He is highly creative and gave clear direction on each marketing element to execute our vision. Paul is very dedicated and worked long hours in studio to ensure we had an effective advertising campaign.”
— Mary Dobson, Marketing Print Production Manager at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store
“Two strangers set out to get food after another late night at the office. They end up in the same place and one opens the door for the other. They end up waiting in the same line for food and start a conversation. Immediately, they see how easy going the other is and find a similar topic. The point is, in a fast paced industry that requires constant collaboration, I believe it is important to surround yourself with people you are able to easily work with. Especially, on a late night. That creative that goes out of their way to open the door is Paul. Now I’ve learned a lot from him over the years. Not only about work ethic, but also finding a new appreciation for dedicating oneself to creating work they can be proud of. As a leader, mentor and visual crafter, Paul can go from managing others on several projects to rolling up his sleeves and creating a work of art. He finds value where others may not and invests in it to create potential.”
